Setting Up Facebook Messenger

Your guide to setting up Facebook Messenger in AMI so you can reach out to your contacts seamlessly

*You are limited to 10 messages per day unless you subscribe to AMI Pro.

To find an individual contact's Facebook handle, visit your Facebook friend's page and take a look at the URL. For example, the URL for AMI's page is www.facebook.com/sellwithami. You can add this entire link to AMI to make sure you can send a Facebook Message from the app. Below is a video that shows how to add this information from your phone in the AMI app. 

We recognize adding Facebook handles can take some time. This is due to security measures taken by Facebook. For a quicker way to add multiple Facebook handles at one time, try adding them to a CSV file and uploading it to my.ami.co or by asking your customers to fill out your Contact Form with their information. You can also add this information using AMI's Web Portal if you are an AMI Pro subscriber.

How to copy Facebook Handles from your phone:

1. In Facebook, find the contact you'd like to message from within AMI. 

2. When you're on their profile, tap the button with three dots next to Message

3. Select Copy Link to copy their Facebook Profile URL to your clipboard

How to copy Facebook Handles from the web:

1. In Facebook, find the contact you'd like to message from within AMI. 

2. When you're on their profile, copy the url (example: www.facebook.com/sellwithami)

3. You can enter this in AMI's Web Portal

How to add Facebook handle into AMI:

1.    In the app, find your contact by scrolling or searching for their name.

2.    Tap their  name in the list of contacts. You'll see their individual profile.

3.    Tap their  initials in the circle or profile image. This will open a page that allows you to edit this contact's information.

4.    Scroll to the section with the header  Social Media Handles.

5.    Paste the contact's Facebook profile link in the field that says  Facebook Profile (with the Facebook logo to the left).

6.    Scroll to the bottom and tap the  Save button.

When you tap the  Contact button anywhere for this customer or are completing a follow up for them, you'll now see the Facebook Messenger option.

Messaging with Facebook from the app

When contacting an individual via Facebook Messenger from the app, AMI will ask to redirect you to Messenger. 

*Note: Due to FB restrictions, verbiage from templates is unable to be pre-populated in the message text box. However, the template is copied to your clipboard; all you have to do is paste!
